Gone Buggy for Signs of Spring {with some Friday Freebies!}

Happy Friday friends!  I hope your mornings started off better than mine.  I had nightmares all night about going on vacation with my husband!  (It's not what you think!  He's a great guy to vacation with!)  I dreamed we went to a beautiful island and stayed at a nice hotel, but once you got there you were trapped.  And every night one of those raptor dinosaur things ate a different person.  Then it went all James Bond style while we tried to escape to the airport.  It was funny it retrospect, but man last night was ROUGH!  Then I woke up late and was so out of it that I put body wash in my hair instead of shampoo.  Yikes!  All I can say is don't eat pizza and watch Jurassic Park immediately before bed time.  Very poor choice!  :) Anyways, here's what we've been getting up to lately!  We've been learning about insects and signs of spring and going a little crazy.  :)  Read on for a picture palooza and ...

A Picture Palooza of Animal Homes & Life Cycles

Happy Wednesday everyone and congratulations on making it halfway!  I have been meaning to post this for awhile, but it has been crazy busy.  Today though I had a GREAT day.  Seriously, today was the best Wednesday ever.  My kiddos were great (and hilarious... I just love overhearing their conversations!  Today my favorite was when one of my kids told her group, "Last night my armpit farted."  The rest of the kids were all so astonished and wanted to know how!)  and I got done with half my Bracken tests (on which everyone so far has made great growth), so I'm feeling pretty motivated and awesome.  :) These last two weeks have flown by, so be prepared for a lot of pictures!  We've been learning about animal homes and then life cycles.  Back in September we learned about animals around the world; so this time the theme was more "close to home."  We studied animals and their homes underground, by water, and in the forest; we also lea...

Friday Feelings, Communication, Valentine's & Freebies

Wow, what a crazy busy week!  (But then again, what week isn't?)  First of all let me say HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful week with your class filled with lots of love.  Our party was great yesterday, I just wish I had Monday off to recover!  (On Monday we are having a staff training day... and get this... I'm presenting on Positive Discipline!  Super excited but super nervous.  I mean, I don't really feel "old" enough yet to be teaching other teachers on classroom management!) Before I start gabbing about this week, I need to tell you how much I love the "If You're Happy and You Know It" Song!  We sang this great song all week and substituted different feelings/actions.  The best part is I always end with some lyrics of my own invention, "If you're ready and you know it take a seat/If you're listening and you know it look at me," so on and so forth.  :)  GREAT song for transitions and learni...
