Currently March: Seuss Reflections on a Saturday and a Giveaway!

Once again it's time to link up with the lovely Farley at Oh Boy 4th Grade!  Can't wait to read up on what everyone's up to this March!  :)

Here's a look at my March right now...

Listening: Okay, so I heard Wonderwall on the radio yesterday and I can't stop listening to it!  I just love 90's music.

Loving: Celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday with my kiddos yesterday was a BLAST!  And thank goodness for Pinterest, I am so domestically inclined I never could have thought of a cool snack on my own.  Here's a look at some fun stuff we did yesterday...

Haha of course the picture's not mine!  (Nothing I cook ends up looking very pretty).  But we did eat this snack and it was delicious.  And I came in for quite a surprise yesterday morning at the store when I learned they do not make instant jello. (I mean, why not?  There's such a thing as instant pudding!)  :)  Click on the picture to get directed to this great idea from Simple Girl.  We made these delicious morning snack after reading One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish.

Making  Cat hats!  The hats are angled because I wanted to give my kiddos some practice sorting longest/shortest before they glued.  We worked on these after reading The Cat in the Hat

Rhyming with the Cat!  :)

Making Truffula trees that are taller/shorter for math!  If you didn't grab my tufted tree freebie, grab it now by clicking here!  (Recording sheets included!)  We worked on these after reading The Lorax.

Oobleck!  It looks runny in the picture but it dried out pretty quickly. I used Elmer's glue, a little water, liquid starch and green food coloring.  It was GREAT!  We played with this in science after reading Bartholomew and the Oobleck.

You know how much I love games!  Dr. Seuss Memory Match was a BLAST!  :)

Thinking: I have too much to do.  Like always.  (So that's why I'm sitting here blogging, right?)

Wanting: A summer break!  Need to work on finding a job in the public schools!

Needing: More time with my hubby!  He has just started a deputy sheriff's academy.  I am SO proud but so sad we are so busy right now.  :(

Like/Love/Hate: I really like Jamba Juice.  Yummy.  :)

I'm going to do hate next because I want to end on a positive note.  I HATE DRAMA AND JEALOUSY.  Oh my goodness.  And unprofessionalism.  And that's all I'm going to say because I don't even want to think about it any more this week!

And I LOVE my jammies!  Seriously.  My favorite thing to wear is PJ's.

I ALSO love my bloggy buddies!  I seriously do.  You gals (and guys) inspire me so much and always make me feel valued and appreciated.  Thanks for everything you do!  :)  I love you so much and I'm so excited about reaching 500+ Pinterest Followers (593 as I write this) that I'm going to have a giveaway!  (Nope, still not at 100 Blog Followers yet... that one is coming soon I hope!)  But this is a pretty good one too that you won't want to miss out on.

When I was deciding what to contribute to the giveaway, I used this neat feature to see what is pinning recently from my blog (because that's obviously what you guys are wanting/needing!)  It's really cool.  Just plug this into your browser...

http://pinterest.com/source/YOUR BLOG ADDRESS HERE/

(Don't include the HTTP:// in front of your blog address!)

And you can see for yourself!  By far most people are pinning things from my Transportation and Space units, so I'm giving away both of these packs as well as a $10 gift certificate to Scrappin' Doodles for your upcoming cute creations!  There will be 3 DIFFERENT WINNERS (1 for each item)!  Enter below!

Happy March everyone and good luck!

  7. Looks like you and the kiddos has a blast with Dr. Seuss fun too! My kids and I had tons of fun...best part was that we asked parents to come in and read Dr. Seuss books throughout the week-- and we actually had parents come and do it!!
And I am going to check out that transportation unit... after seeing so many awesome ideas, I decided I need to do a big transportation unit (I usually do something very small)

Holiday Customs & Belated Friday Freebies

Saturday is here and Christmas Break has begun!  Well, in my case it's a 4 day weekend, but I'll take it.  I confess I am very jealous of my peers right now that get a two week break.  But I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a good break, and I can't wait to see the exciting stuff you create!  :) What a busy week it has been!  Between practicing for the Holiday Song Program, doing the Holiday Song Program, recovering from the Holiday Song Program, I'm not sure how we accomplished anything at all!  But accomplish we did, and largely thanks to you, my wonderful fellow blogger teachers!  I am so thankful for the great resources you make and share, they were a lifesaver this week for sure!  Here's a look at our week of Holiday Customs Around the World: Art Snowflake Craft Stick Ornaments (Parent Gift) These turned out so great!  I poured some craft (tacky) glue a bowl and they used Q-tips to place glue onto their gemstones.  Then, they put

There's No Place Like Space: Outer Space Adventures & Friday Freebie

TGIF!!!  What a week!  I absolutely adored seeing my kiddos learn about space, but this week was a toughie.  Sick and tired kiddos do not make for a happy class.  Everything kept going the wrong way: food spilled on the newly cleaned carpets, bloody noses on the newly cleaned carpets, bathroom accidents during the middle of centers, pink-eye working its' way around the room, forgotten materials at home, the printer at FedEx Office went haywire and messed up my play-doh mats, the copy machine at work broke, I broke the side mirror of my car coming out of the garage... Yikes!  I was seriously scared to leave my house this morning!  :)  So here's hoping the stars re-align this weekend and my class comes back rockin' and rollin' and ready to learn on Monday! With all that being said, it was still a fun and jam-packed week.  I loved overhearing one of my kiddos tell his parent, "Mom, did you know the sun is ACTUALLY a star?!?!"  And I got to test out another

Families & Freebies on a Friday... err... Monday!

Happy Friday !  Er, Monday?  Well, originally I was going to post this on Friday but I had no time (big surprise, right?) so here it is on Monday!  Here's a peek at our fun Families unit from last week, with a few freebies for my bloggy family!  :) Art: George Washington Color by Number Many thanks to Maria at Kinder-Craze for this great freebie!  On Tuesday we learned a little bit about what a President does and why we celebrate President's Day.  Pick up Maria's great freebie at her blog by clicking here . Paper Bag Houses Love how these houses turned out!   Family Trees Some of my kiddos were even able to write most of the names on their family tree! Magazine Family Hunt Are you ready for your first freebie?  Click on the picture to grab your own copy of this fun family magazine picture hunt!  The kiddos cut out pictures of people in magazines and placed them in the category they thought fit: mommies/daddies, grandmas/grandpas
